Note for our Delta Dental Patients
August 1st, 2022
Delta Dental Update:
Contrary to the letter that Delta sent our patients we are still in-network with Delta Dental.
We reached out to Delta to ask for an increase in our set fee schedule, as our costs to provide care have increased significantly since the covid pandemic. Delta responded by moving us to their premier dentist fee schedule.
Unlike most dental insurance companies that can adjust their fees as circumstances warrant, Delta changes to upgraded schedules. During the time that they were clicking a different check box on my provider account, we were listed as an out of network provider. This caused Delta Dental’s computer generated system to send out hundreds of letters to our patients. We did not process any claims in this window so no patients should be affected.
Our Delta PPO patients still have in-network benefits. What should have been a seamless transition has been complicated and confusing for all. We are re-verifying every Delta account prior to each patient visit to be sure there are no more unexpected events.
A bit of information: Unlike dental insurance companies, Delta Dental is a non-profit organization that does not have the same set of rules and regulations as a traditional insurance carrier. This level of chaos and lower reimbursements is why most dentists in this area are no longer in-network. We apologize for the confusion and are doing everything we can to continue to provide network benefits for our Delta Dental patients.
